Celebrity Makeup Artist Hung Vanngo’s Ideas are On-Point for NYE

Hung Vanngo is the makeup artist celebrities have on speed dial when it comes to selecting their top red carpet glam squad. He has also lent his hand to some of the world’s most recognized magazine covers – including Vogue Arabia’s June issue, featuring Halima Aden. Whether it’s the Oscars or the American Music Awards, his creations consistently hit the “best look” lists, with beauty bloggers posting copycat tutorials online. Of note this year, Emily Ratajkowski at the Emmys, Karlie Kloss at the Oscars, and Selena Gomez at the Met Gala.

Born in Vietnam, Vanngo spent three years of his childhood in a refugee camp in Thailand, before moving to Canada. Even as a child he was drawn to the world of beauty and fashion, and after a stint at a hairdressing school and in a salon, he discovered his heart truly lay in makeup. Leaving behind  the world of hair, Vanngo moved to New York in 2006, where he landed more than 500 magazine covers before turning his eyes to the red carpet. Proving that determination is everything, he continues to be one of the world’s most sought-after makeup artists, having been named a Marc Jacobs Beauty ambassador earlier this year. Take a virtual tour of these makeup ideas primed for NYE celebrations.
