Celebrity Hairstylist Deena Alawaid Breaks Down Her Best Paris Fashion Week Looks

A celebrity favorite when it comes to high impact hair looks, global hairstylist Deena Alawaid was in demand at Paris Fashion Week. Below she shares her SS24 behind the scenes diary, for an exclusive look at most stunning celebrity looks created for both the frow and the fashion calendar’s biggest events.

Natalia Vodianova at Dior

We wanted to create a hairstyle that was effortlessly cool and perfect for a daytime event. We started with a smooth blowout and then used the Dyson Corrale Straightener to add some loose bends to the hair. This gave Natalia’s hair a natural, textured look that was both effortless and stylish.

Kelsey was dressed in an elegant, silky white number with a high neck, so she wanted a sleek hairstyle that was pulled back and away from the face, with a little bit of edge – not something super soft and romantic. We went with a side part to give it a more edgier, statement look, then added some texture and volume to the top of the hair, and then pulled the back into a twisted bun.

Nour Arida at Lancôme x Louvre

Nour’s dress was silky and elegant with elements of lace. We wanted to contrast this with a bold and wet look, however, she did not want her hair tied up. Keeping this in mind, we did a middle parting with the slick-backed wet look which I think complimented the dress perfectly, especially it’s low back.

Dana Hourani at YSL

I love Dana as she is super cool and edgy and was wearing quite a statement outfit to the YSL event. We wanted to keep her signature fringe but we wanted to pull back the rest of her hair to hide the length. To fit her look and signature aesthetic, we did two braids as opposed to a pretty ballerina-like bun. We then twisted these braids into one another and left some pieces sticking out to keep that edgy feeling.

 Maya Diab

The inspiration for this look was the classic 90s runway model. This of course meant a big bouncy blowout with tons of volume. We then accessorized this perfectly with the iconic headband. I think the hair perfectly complimented her statement outfit.

Maya Diab at Messika

The focus of this event was the jewelry, so we wanted the hair up to really showcase her incredible necklace and earrings! To ensure the look was high-fashion, we chose to play with the length of her hair, styling it into a waist length braid.

Karen Wazen at Loewe

The Loewe show was during the day and Karen was wearing a chic white coat matched with statement white sunglasses. We kept her hair back in a sleek bun but left a piece out in front that waved next to her sunglasses.

Rose Bertram

Rose wanted to go for a wet and edgy look. She was also into the idea of creating a look that would give the illusion that she had short hair. We created this stunning finger-wave at the front, and then slicked the rest of her hair back, thus giving the illusion that she had a pixie cut.

Karen Wazen at Schiaparelli

For the Schiaparelli show, Karen was wearing a light-colored suit with very cool, statement jewelry. This meant her hair had to go up! As the brand is known for its edgy shapes and pieces with movement, Karen drew inspiration and asked for this chain-look rope braid.
