Exaggerated eyeliner has fast emerged as a major makeup trend on the Resort 2018 runways. It started at Chanel, where a lineup of models marched down the runway sporting a next-level flick of jet-black liner. Then it appeared again on the runways of , and most recently at Valentino.
On the red carpets, the edgy cat-eye is having its moment too, with multiple A-listers looking beyond basic sweeps of black. At the 2017 Met Gala, Gigi Hadid, Lily-Rose Depp, and Candice Swanepoel traced their eyes with thick obsidian ink that shaped into a sharp point well past their temples. Emily Ratajkowski went with an edging of blue eyeliner that culminated in a green flick. On the Cannes red carpet, Bella Hadid and Jasmine Tookes offered a modern take on classic winged liner, with exaggerated feline flicks extending from the outer corner of the eyes.
To recreate these looks, only one product is required and it’s already sitting in your makeup bag – eyeliner. If not, take your pick from our favorites below.
