Among the many things Bella Hadid is known for, her runway-ready skin is definitely one of them. While the part-Palestinian model has never really opened up about her skincare do’s and don’ts and remains quiet about her beauty routine, she has recently revealed the one hack she swears by.
To prep her skin before makeup, Hadid submerges her face in an ice bath, a method most celebrities have given a thumbs up to. The former Vogue Arabia cover star was seen giving the beauty tip a try in a video posted by British makeup artist and a friend of Hadid, Isamaya Ffrench. “It’s called ice bath by Bella Hadid,” says the model in the clip, which sees her dunking her bare face in a bowl of ice cubes. It makes sense that Hadid would prioritize this particular step in her beauty routine given its proven benefits, which also falls in line with her mother, Yolanda Hadid’s advice of taking care of her “skin before the makeup.”

Submerging your face in an ice bath has been scientifically proven to tighten skin, reduce inflammation, and help with fat reduction and overall wellbeing. A part of cryotherapy, it can also help to reduce inflammation by bringing down the body’s temperature and redirecting blood flow and associated nerve functions. The treatment is a go-to for many A-listers who swear by its benefits, including Demi Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Alicia Keys, and even footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, if ice baths are not your thing, you can instead try icing tools such as a dual-ended cryo roller, ice globes, facial ice globes or cryo face masks.
