These Becca Cult Beauty Favorites Have Escaped Discontinuation

It seems like a lot can change in a matter of months for a failed beauty brand. Devotees of the Austalian-founded brand were devastated to hear in February this year that Becca Cosmetics would be discontinued by its parent group, announcing on its Instagram that the pressures of the pandemic had been more than the brand’s business model could withstand. The makeup brand has been responsible for some of the biggest bestsellers of the last decade, including its trendsetting illuminating primer, the record-breaking Champagne Pop pressed highlighter, the Glossier-before-Glossier-existed Beach Tint multi-use gel-creams, and the undereye concealers found in every decent makeup artist’s kit. With the prices of Becca stock slashed to half price, fans of the brand stocked up on their favorite products, some buying multiples to last them a lifetime.

But with Becca projected to be off shelves by this month, a last minute stay on some of the brand’s top-selling products has now been announced. Los Angeles-based beauty brand, Smashbox, has revealed that it will be re-releasing two of Becca’s most popular products, under a new Smashbox Loves Becca partnership. Announcing that “Becca’s most-loved products find a new home” on Smashbox’s social channels, the new range has adopted Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop, and Under Eye Brightening Corrector.

The Smashbox website also promises new shades will arrive soon for both products. Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors were previously available in eight different shades, with the Under Eye Brightening Concealer range including two different hues. Both brands are under the Estée Launder Company umbrella, with the absorption of the bestselling Becca lines into Smashbox seemingly a good deal for both Becca fans, and the Estée Launder Company looking to continue the legacy (and financial success) of these beauty icons. Smashbox Loves Becca is slated to launch in October, with a Middle East arrival date yet to be confirmed.
