In the wake of the #BlackLivesMatter movement that has seen protests and demonstrations unfold in America and across the globe, members of the beauty community are showing their support. Promoting solidarity and demanding change, they have been pledging money and offering up resources on activism. From Glossier to Sunday Riley here are some of the most important messages.
Glossier
The brand headed by CEO Emily Weiss pledges $500k donations to organizations focused on combating racial injustice. These include Black Lives Matter, The NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund and The Equal Justice Initiative.
Anastasia Beverly Hills
Pledging over $1 million to the fight against systematic racism, oppression, and injustice, Anastasia Beverly Hills begins by donating $100k to various organizations including the Innocence Project and Black Visions Collective.
Sunday Riley
Founder Sunday Riley who hails from Houston, the same city George Floyd was from, pledges a donation of $50k to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. The company is also making further plans to show support in its hometown.
Deciem
Donating $100k to Black Lives Matter and The NAACP Legal Defence & Educational Fund, Deciem has also dedicated its Instagram Stories to the movement. Amplifying the conversation, they are calling on the public to send in videos with their messages which they will post to their over one million followers.
Kosas
The beauty brand has pledged $20k to organizations from Black Lives Matter and Color of Change. They have also shared ways you too can make a change.
Maybelline
The New York brand has announced it will make a donation to NAACP.
Summer Fridays
Making donations to both Black Lives Matter and the Minnesota Freedom Fund, the team at Summer Fridays have also shared how to educate yourself and make donations.
NYX Cosmetics
Joining the fight, NYX Cosmetics will be donating to both Black Lives Matter and the Minnesota Freedom Fund.
Urban Decay
The American makeup brand is also set to make donations to both Black Lives Matter and the Minnesota Freedom Fund.
Glamcor
The beauty lighting solution brand donates $5k to the NAACP.
