If you are shooting one of the most iconic Lebanese singers of all time, Majida El Roumi for the front cover of Vogue Arabia then you need one of Lebanon’s most iconic makeup artists on the glam squad. With years of experience that have even allowed him to create his own cult makeup line, Bassam Fattouh was of course the obvious answer. Known as a classic beauty, when it came to creating El Roumi’s look, Fattouh kept it simple highlighting her natural elegance. “Majida is a pillar in Lebanese history, her beauty is majestic, refined, and timeless. Needless to mention the charm and strength of her voice that stems from within,” he explains. Here Fattouh walks us through how to get the look.

The Look
“For Majida’s look, we didn’t apply a high coverage foundation,” explains Fattouh. Instead, he focused on creating a flawless base. “The first thing I did was moisturize her skin really well and I used my BB Cream to keep the real color and feel of her skin dominant,” he adds.

To perfect her base Fattouh looked to his Loose Fix Powder, “The amount of powder used was so minimal to ensure the natural look.”

Next up, a sweep of blush was added. “I used a very thin layer of blush on her cheekbones,” Fattouh says.

Fattouh looked to his iconic Star Eyeshadow Pallete for El Roumi’s eyes. “For the eyes, I didn’t use any eyeliner, instead I worked with natural and earthy eyeshadow colors,” Bassam says.

“I used lots of mascara to lengthen and intensify her eyelashes without the use of any fake ones,” explains Fattouh.

To finish off the look Fattouh opted for El Roumi’s favorite shade for the lips. “I used lipliner strictly on the edge of her lips. I finished it off by covering it with a nude and natural lip color,” Fattouh concludes.
