The Indian bridal makeup trend features different bloggers doing a bold bridal makeup look to the tune of ‘San Sanana’ from the Indian film As̅oka  (2001), starring Vogue Arabia’s March 2024 cover star Kareena Kapoor Khan. Set to the track’s mesmerizing vocals, Emirati singer Fathi applies makeup to create a striking Indian-inspired look featuring captivating tight-lined eyes, a face-sculpting contour, and pouty, glossed lips. The rosy pink and terracotta eye look is off-set by Fathi’s vivid green lenses and long eyelashes.

Paying homage to the film’s storyline, the Emirati celebrity’s makeup and beauty tutorial cuts between shots of her wearing a tribal design with facial tattoos, and the step by step process for the warm-toned glam makeup. Her final look is revealed as an elaborate Indian bridal beauty look, complete with traditional Indian jewelry and clothing. She strikes a pose, illuminated against a sultry red backdrop as the crescendo of  ‘San Sanana’ plays. Fathi’s video has proven to be popular with her fans, with more than two hundred thousand and eighty-four thousand followers liking her tribute to the classic Hindi film. A historical drama, As̅oka is a fictionalized version of the life of 3rd century BCE emperor As̅oka, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan as the Maurya Empire emperor alongside Kapoor Khan.
