Start with matte. You want to start with a matte eyeshadow to shape the end result you’re looking for.

Your eye shape matters. If you have a hooded eye avoid placing any product in the outer corners and always focus on the center, as it will create a more open eye effect. If you have open eyes you can do whatever you want.

Eyeliner is crucial whether you place it on the top or the bottom. On the top is great at the root of the lash to really open up the space.

Let there be light. Add light shade to the tear duct. Look to a satin finish or something shimmery or even matte if it’s a lot lighter than your complexion. This will automatically give you an awakened look.

Shimmer is always a good idea. Especially if you work with them in the center of the eye. Start at the root of the lash and work upwards towards the crease. You can apply with your fingers to give a light sheen.

Mascara application is key. You can change your eye shape by the way you apply your mascara as your eyelashes frame your eyes. There are three important steps. On the outer corners, push outward, in the center always sweep up and inner always in. It will give you a nice full look.
