A model, mom, author, businesswoman, and environmentalist, Gisele Bündchen does it all. It doesn’t come easy, as the face of Dior’s game-changing skincare line Capture Totale, admits freely. It takes work. Born in 1980 in Brazil, Bündchen chased her dream early moving to New York City in 1997 to pursue modeling. Three years later after fronting the covers of some of the world’s biggest titles she had signed her first major deal with Victoria’s Secret, which flung her further into the limelight as one of the highest-paid models in the world.
Retiring from the runway in 2015, Bündchen turned her focus to her other passions. A Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program she championed the fight for saving the planet. Also promoting the world of wellness and the benefits she released her New York Times bestselling book Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life. Here are five key principals she lives by.
1. She wakes up at 5:30am.
“No one needs anything from me at 5.30 in the morning!”
2. You have to take care of yourself.
“If you don’t feel good, you’re not going to look good.”
3. Being healthy takes effort.
“It’s not just about one thing, there’s no quick fix. You have to do the work.”
4. Sleep is important.
“I need seven to eight hours otherwise I can’t function.”
5. She believes in self-love.
“We have to be more compassionate and kinder to ourselves.”
