Qirdala, the multi-brand jewelry boutique that offers a carefully curated selection of contemporary fine jewelry, hosted an elegant evening to celebrate “the Silene cuff,” designed by Dori and Alia Mouzannar, the 6th generation from the house of Aziz and Walid Mouzannar, in collaboration with architect Zaha Hadid. The standout limited edition 18K white gold cuff adorned with diamonds was the star of the night, making it the most exclusive piece out of the twelve designed in various gold finishes.
Speaking on the collaboration, Dori told Style.com/Arabia, “Zaha Hadid is a client of the house and a friend of the family. She’s very selective with her collaborations and we enjoyed working together and are very pleased with the outcome.” He added, “We plan on extending the line by expanding on the four existing variations of the cuff (in yellow, pink, and oxidized gold) to twelve limited edition pieces from each variation. We’re also thinking about including black diamonds but that’s all still in the works.”
Dori’s line of jewelry is distinguished by precious stones that play a lead role on hammered pure gold rings and cuff bracelets, and is adorned with a signature red ruby on every piece. Meanwhile, Alia offers a treat in disguise through interchangeable pieces that can be worn in multiple ways. She talked to us about the inspiration behind her creations, “I love precious jewelry but at the same time I needed something practical. I’m constantly on the go between work and kids, that’s how the idea to design a pair of earrings that can be worn up to seven different ways came to life.”
Founded by Dhari Al Nafisi and Naser AlBader, Qirdala exclusively houses the works of Dori and Alia Mouzannar in addition to contemporary fine jewelry lines Falamank by Tarfa Itani, Nakhla Jewelry, and Nikous Kolis.
Qirdala is located at Tilal Complex, Kuwait.
