The American designer’s signature eveningwear knockouts took a backseat while daywear dominated the Zac Posen Spring 2016 ready-to-wear show at NYFW. We understand that this might leave some of our region’s ladies disappointed as he is considered to be one of the go-to designers for fancy occasion formalwear.
Founder: Zac Posen
Owner: House of Z
Designer: Zac Posen
Year Established: 2001
Spring 2016 Inspiration: Maximal minimalism.
Star Pieces: Despite the lack of evening gowns, there are daywear pieces worth highlighting, such as the outfit with the oval hem jacket, featuring textured lattice details paired with culottes; a sexy white, bias-cut silk dress; and a chic navy blue, off-the-shoulder shift.
The Middle Eastern Sale: The straight-cut, apron gown gathered in the back, featuring structured side folds, will be spotted at a wedding or two.
Drawbacks: The black and white print, halter maxi dress failed to impress and the crochet frock awkwardly stood out from the collection. Posen is at his best when he sticks to his signature red carpet-worthy designs.
