German watchmaking company, A. Lange & Söhne (pronounced ah LANG-eh unt ZURN-neh), invited eight young watchmakers from international watchmaking schools to take part in the fourth annual F.A. Lange Watchmaking Excellence Award. Following a tour of the manufacturing factory in Glashütte, Saxony, eight young men were tasked with constructing a second time zone display on the basis of an ETA 6498 movement.
Established in honor of Founder, Ferdinand A. Lange, who created the company in 1845, a 10,000 Euro prize will be awarded to the leading young watchmaker.
