Yeezy

Kanye West announced that he would stage his Yeezy Spring 2016 ready-to-wear show a week ago yet he still managed to pack his front row as Anna Wintour, Riccardo Tisci, and Jay Z all cleared their schedules to join the Kardashian and Jenner clan at the presentation. Street cast models, pros, and Kylie Jenner showcased a monochrome collection of utilitarian separates, including coats, sweatshirts, leggings, and boots. Notably, the models arrived on the presentation set to create color formations, starting with nude and then leading to taupe, brown, and then black.

Founder: Kanye West

Owner: Kanye West

Year Established: 2014

Designer: Kanye West

Spring 2016 Inspiration: West prepared the presentation with performance artist Vanessa Beecroft, and for the finale, white models wearing nude-colored clothing and black models wearing black clothing arranged themselves from front to back—white to black. One couldn’t help but wonder if West was touching on racial profiling with this collection.

Star Pieces: The boots will be the must-haves.

The Middle Eastern Sale: Due to West being the designer, any piece purchased will be considered a coup of sorts.
