World Luxury Expo 2013: Abu Dhabi

abudhabiThe buoyant luxury industry has confirmed that the UAE, which overcame an economic slump, remains a magnet for foreign investors, international brands, and retailers.

Enter the World Luxury Expo, a network of luxury trade-shows across the Middle East. After two previous editions held by the London-based World Luxury Group in Dubai and Riyadh, the third edition of the three-day event will kick off on September 27th at Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi, and is set to become an annual must-attend event within the region.

The Abu Dhabi edition will feature a broad selection of fine art, high jewelry, fashion, and design furniture, next to less sparkling yet equally impressive products, such as the latest technologies for luxury automobiles, marine, private aviation, and even human biophysical medicine such as B5 Living’s “Human Regenerator”, an innovative, though controversial rejuvenation technology.

Further vanities worth seeing include the launch of California’s House of Sillage, a limited edition travel perfume which is adorned with 665 gemstones shaped into a gecko and set on an 18K yellow gold cylinder. In the “shine-bright-like-a-diamond” section, Italian goldsmith and designer, Rosmundo Giarletta, will present the famed Al-Noor Jewel, consisting of a medallion necklace with gold wedges that intersect and fall into a drop-shaped diamond.

Following the Abu Dhabi edition, the World Luxury Expo will continue to Doha from November 1416 before hitting Kuwait in December, and finally returning to Saudi Arabia in February 2014.
