Kate Moss Agency is the new talent firm launched by the supermodel and sixty-times Vogue cover girl, Kate Moss. In keeping with her signature elusive style, Moss did not announce the news via press release or at an elaborate event; rather, she unveiled her plans via a feature in the fourth annual print edition of BOF500 magazine. Both a one-page website launch and Instagram account populated with natty content followed in quick succession.

Following a mere 14 posts, KMA’s Instagram account is already at 533K followers, and, naturally, it “follows” no one. After 14 years, Kate left her modeling agency Storm in March 2016 and has been working on her next-step strategy since. This summer, Business of Fashion’s founder, Imran Amed flew out to Kate’s holiday home in Greece to exclusively interview the super on her next moves. We round up the must-read quotes from the interview.

ON LEAVING HER MOTHER AGENCY, STORM
“It’s a grown-up thing… I was always going to be the little Kate that they’ve known since I was 14.”

ON HOW SHE WANTS TO RUN HER AGENCY
“You know that film Gia? Faye Dunaway plays the agent. I could so do that! But I want to focus more on managing people’s careers than just [running] a modelling agency.

ON WHO SHE WANTS TO RECRUIT
“I don’t really want pretty people, I want people that want to sing and dance and act—I want to create stars.”

ON HER EXPERIENCE IN FASHION
“I’ve definitely been there and done it all, and I know the things that you don’t have to do and maybe things that you should… It’s just how I know the business.”

ON MONEY VS. CREATIVITY
“For them [Storm] I think it was still about money, whereas I’d rather do something I was really proud of as a product rather than the ka-ching.”

ON WHAT SHE WANTS FROM HER TEAM
“I love doers.”

The talent agency won’t just be focused on recruiting and promoting models, explained Business of Fashion, it also looks to expand into collaborations, and build on Kate’s experience working with brands such as Topshop, Longchamp, and Rimmel. “To do a collaboration and put your name on a product is a big thing for me. It’s something I need to believe in.”
