To commemorate Vogue Italia’s 50th Anniversary, the publication’s Editor-in-Chief, Franca Sozzani, tied up with PepsiCo to showcase a global fashion collaboration, “The Pulse of New Talent,” on the first day of the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience 2014(VFDE).
The 20-piece collection included ready-to-wear and accessories for men and women from 10 emerging designers from around the world, including two regional designers, Madiyah Al Sharqi from United Arab Emirates and Lulwa Al Amin from Bahrain; Stella Jean and Au Jour Le Jour from Italy; Suno and William Okpo from USA; Little Shilpa and Miuniku from India; Plore from China; and Masha Reva from Ukraine, who will also receive US $50,000 from Pepsi as an investment for the brand’s development.
To promote the burgeoning crop of talent, the Symphony concept store will stock the womenswear designs of The Pulse of New Talent for one week.
“Dubai is pulsing with energy and talent; a city truly emerging as a 21st [century] fashion capital,” said Sozzani. “As a leader in the fashion industry, we continue our mission to support up-and-coming designers and are proud to partner with Pepsi to host these talented 10 on a global stage and share their creativity with the world.”
The VFDE 2014, now in its second year, is being organized by Emaar in partnership with Vogue Italia from October 30th to November 1st at The Dubai Mall, with a specific focus on fashion events developed to support up-and-coming designers from around the world.
