With models, Karolina Kurkova, Petra Nemcova, Bianca Balti, and footballer, Didier Drogba flown in for the event, the much-anticipated Vogue Café opened with a chic celebrity-studded soirée in Dubai Mall’s Level Shoe District.
Glossy, gold architectural elements double as bookshelves for rows of back-edition Vogue Magazines and a sleek bar encircles the far end of an elegant and opulent venue. Designed as a retreat for shoppers exploring the world’s largest shoe store, the Vogue Café boasts private dining areas ensconced within gold panels and set against a backdrop of large black and white Vogue archival imagery.
The menu is curated by Condé Nast Restaurants’ head chef, Gary Robinson, and features dishes for calorie-counters alongside gluten-free and allergen conscious options. Guests at the event were treated to fresh fruit cocktails served in chilled flutes and miniature portions of the café’s signature dishes including Maine lobster spring rolls, mini-burgers, strawberry cheesecake, and colorful macaroons flecked with gold leaf.
Dubai’s fashion pack was out in force working Summer’s key trends: the women wore metallic pumps, statement jewelry, and all-white ensembles and were offset by the men who turned up in color block suits, prints, and monochrome—as seen on Haute Couturier, Rami Al Ali.
The night ended with Karolina Kurkova posing for photos in high bronze Louboutins while English model, Elisabeth Kinnear, twirled in a black and white Hervé Leger bandage dress as she danced with Bianca Balti’s daughter, Matilde.
