London fashion week’s schedule announced…
The British Fashion Council has released the official schedule for Spring 2016 London fashion week, and there are some very notable new additions to the roster. Versus, helmed by Anthony Vaccarello, will show in London this season after revealing its pre-collection there in May, while former Mulberry creative director Emma Hill will debut her new accessories line, and John Smedley will launch its first womenswear line. Abbey Lee on modeling’s toughest moments…
From the outside, the world of modeling seems enviably glamorous, though in reality a model’s work is anything but. Abbey Lee opened up about the perils of the profession recently and elaborated on the difficulties she faced during her years at the top. “I’ve never worked so hard in my life,” the 28-year-old admitted. “By the time you get to Paris, you can barely open your eyes. Your skin is red raw from all the makeup, your scalp hurts, you’re exhausted, you’re hungry, you are that broken down.” [The Guardian]
Eva Chen’s new role…
Eva Chen announced today that she has been named Instagram’s head of fashion partnerships. The former editor in chief of Lucky, who stepped down from her position earlier this year, shared the news via Instagram, of course, uploading a photo of herself at the app’s New York headquarters. LV bids adieu to Murakami…
Louis Vuitton’s Multicolore monogram collection is being discontinued after more than 10 years in production. An LV sales associate said the Takashi Murakami-designed pattern, which once brightened shop fronts and in-store displays, will be “leaving stores at the end of July, forever.” Representatives for the brand declined to comment on the news but did note that Louis Vuitton prefers to “look forward.” []
