Valentino will once again make waves this season as it will charter a plane from Paris to Rome to bring the crème de la crème of the fashion world directly to their seats for its Haute Couture show. While we don’t yet know if the chairs will be upholstered in Valentino red, we can reveal that the catwalk will not be any ordinary runway but rather an original art installation.
While a Valentino Haute Couture Roman extravaganza would be enough to have anyone saying, “Grazie mille,” that is not all—not nearly.
The VIP guests will also be privy to a black-tie gala and an extraordinary exhibition titled “Mirabilia Romae” (“Marvels of Rome” for those of you who don’t read Latin) where the privileged relationship between the fashion house and Rome will be showcased via a multi-point location exhibition, with guests journeying from one “marvelous” visual experience to another via golf carts.
The journey of the old and the new will culminate with a toast to the newly renovated Valentino atelier at the Palazzo Mignanelli. The castle is a late Renaissance palace in Rome built in 1575 and today serves as Valentino’s Roman residence.
Clearly for some, it’s a dolce vita indeed.
