Fashion folks will have a difficult decision to make come February 20: attend Day One of London fashion week or skip halfway around the globe for Tom Ford’s show in L.A. The Independent reports today that the designer will be showing his Autumn/Winter 2015 collection in Los Angeles, where he has been spending part of his life for the past 20 years. Ford directed, produced, and cowrote the film A Single Man, and it seems the allure of the Hollywood biz has influenced his decision.

“So many visuals in our world are filtered through Los Angeles, including music, television, and film, and in this way it influences global fashion in a profound way,” Ford said when he made the announcement. “Like fashion, film is also a creative endeavor that is extremely important to me. I am excited to bring these two aspects of my life together by presenting the collection in Los Angeles.”

Could Style.com critic Tim Blanks’ review of Ford’s sex-charged Spring 2015 show turn out to be prophetic?

“Ford’s editorial instincts are such that he knows how to create a good picture,” Blanks wrote. “He’s proved that over and over again (and one day, perhaps there’ll be an Oscar to seal the deal).”

Stay tuned.
