The Kayys

According to the notes, The Kayys Spring 2016 collection, “Organic Lines,” is inspired by sisterhood and travel, but these sophisticated silhouettes in stormy desert and earth colors with metallic accents are not for the tween-type BFFs. Rather, the bell-pant tunic suits with malachite mineral print in mustard yellow and teal; the marble white waistcoat over satin palazzo pants; and eggshell blue shift dress with undulating frayed hem will speak to the cultured career lady who is a confident trailblazer.

The Kayys designers, Qatari sisters Hend, Ghada, and Maha Al Subaey, launched their brand in 2011, and season after season they continue to build on their brand story. Their silhouettes have become increasingly sleek while their color palettes command attention. Each collection includes a nod to sportswear, and for Spring 2016, the designers offer a cropped bomber with voluminous rounded sleeves and a salmon peach bomber dress with a nonchalantly knotted skirt. But the highlights here are the tunics with carwash pleats; the bamboo woven, lamé, and lurex wool separates; and the shirt dresses—particularly the head-turning gold number with front pockets.
