She “ain’t no hollaback girl” but superstar singer Gwen Stefani certainly gave a shout-out to the trio of sister Qatari designers—Hend, Ghada, and Maha Al Subaey—behind the Qatari brand The Kayys.
Stefani, a fervent supporter of emerging talent, reached out to collaborate with the brand ahead of her concert at the World Handball Championships 2015 in Qatar, for which the designers created custom-made looks for Stefani and her dancers. The two looks created for Stefani were both inspired by the 2013 kaftan collection and included a gold-embroidered white and pink ensemble and a miniskirt-dress with star motifs. Meanwhile, Stefani’s dancers wore looks from The Kayys Sping 2014 collection: a lace tutu skirt and top with crystal embellishment and a two-piece from the Resort 2015 collection.
