The Closet Hosts a Soirée Under the Stars to Welcome Christian Siriano

Qatar’s tastemakers and fashion-forward elite gathered under the stars to welcome Christian Siriano to The Closet and celebrate the unveiling of the boutique’s first chapter of its new identity, themed “The Moon and the Girl.” Guests strolled through the transformed boutique, which resembled a starlit night with an acrobat dangling mid-air from a steel moon. This led the way to the terrace of the Armani Café, which overlooked the twinkling Arabian Gulf.

Mini desserts and mocktails were served while Siriano moved the crowd with his speech before revealing a heart-stopping gown—an exclusive creation by the designer for The Closet boutique.

“The Middle East and America have very different cultures and social scenes, but the idea of dressing up is still the same; people here want to be kept up-to-date and be just as fashionable as everyone else—maybe even a bit more,” Siriano told Style.com/Arabia when asked about the customers of the region. “The customer here is willing to take more risks with fashion and have fun with it. For my brand, I think this market is becoming as important as my US market—perhaps even more so. There are many great customers and retailers in the Middle East who support my collection every season.”

When asked about his Middle Eastern muses, Siriano replied, “My customers. No matter what age or size, I am open to dressing anyone who wants to wear my brand. But I also love what H.H. Sheikha Mozah wears. She is so chic and elegant.”

The night winded down to the sounds of guests mingling and violin strings.
