Slip Inside The cARTel’s Fashion: a Second Skin Exhibition

Dubai-based multi-brand concept boutique The cARTel’s upcoming exhibition Fashion: A Second Skin is gearing up to celebrate fashion and art at the boutique’s showroom located in the heart of Dubai’s art scene in Al Quoz.

The theme will explore fashion as an independent shelter that encompasses the female body through exhibits presented by artist Patricia Millns and designer Úna Burke. The visual showcase will take viewers on a journey that interprets both the creatives’ philosophies on fashion as a second skin.

Patricia Millns is a celebrated Dubai-based British artist and curator whose work has been displayed at prestigious exhibits around the world. The ambassador of the Dubai Design District (D3) and board member of Art Dubai features work that highlights interactive installations on themes centered round the region’s culture. Inspired by Islamic art and women’s studies, her artworks highlight the implications of dress and adornments.

The exhibition will also shine light on Úna Burke. The British leather accessories designer creates sculptural flesh-colored leather pieces that are bolted with brass studs. On display at The cARTel will be her conceptual collection of leather sculptural carcass-like works created around a contoured female body portraying human gestures.

Fashion: A Second Skin at The cartel from March 14th to 31st.
