The Blue Box Celebrates 175 Years

Tiffany and Co. has marked 175 years of design excellence with the unveiling a stunning exhibition at their Dubai store. “A Legacy of Diamonds” features jewelry from the Tiffany Archives, but the jewel getting all the attention is the 128.54 Carat Tiffany Diamond.

Hosting the Tiffany Diamond is a veritable coup for the Emirate. Coming off the heels of the successful Dubai International Jewelry Week, the unveiling of the Tiffany exhibition in Dubai, alongside Tokyo and Beijing, only helps to further cement the Emirate’s growing status as an international luxury retail destination. “We at Tiffany & Co. are extremely proud that Dubai was chosen as one of only three cities outside New York to showcase the Tiffany Diamond as part of the company’s 175th anniversary.” said Michael J. Kowalski, Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Tiffany & Co.

The Tiffany Diamond is priceless and is the most beautiful fancy yellow diamond ever discovered. Set in a diamond and platinum necklace, the white diamonds alone total over 100 Carats. The stone itself was discovered in 1877, in the Kimberley mountains in South Africa, and was originally a 287.42 rough stone which was immediately acquired by Tiffany Founder Charles Lewis. The stone was then cut to maximize its extraordinary color, revealing a piece that dazzles and radiates as though lit by an inner flame.

Legacy gemstones are also on view in shimmering pinks, ocean blues, and rich greens. From December 13th to January 9th.
