Thakoon Addition

Thakoon Panichgul’s Addition range might be his main brand’s younger sibling, at least where price point is concerned, but for the designer the two occupy much the same space. Hell, even Barneys houses both on the same floor, and for Pre-Fall there was plenty of overlap between the lines. For the Addition collection Panichgul looked to the label’s core elements—for example, spinning shirting into sweaterdress hybrids that were cozy and crisp. There was an embarrassment of textural riches: sweatshirts with plushly flocked graphics; a crocheted knit vest with barely perceptible lace insets; a garden-variety baja shot through with metallic threads. That baja was a dark horse—Panichgul’s success in divesting it of lingering head-shop associations was a testament to his skills.
