Temperley London

Our region’s buyers will have a hard time choosing what looks to take home considering that just about everything featured in the Temperley London Spring 2016 ready-to-wear offering came across as tailor-made for the Middle Eastern lady with a soft spot for loose silhouettes, feminine details (cue long skirts, bow-wrapped waists, off the shoulder blouses, and ruffles), and ethnic-inspired embroidery.

This collection referenced Alice Temperley’s romantic vision of Havana. The jet-set wardrobe evoked the carefree mood of the island’s holidaying folk via embroidered banana leaves, flowers, and birds in a palette of ocean blue, grass green, and mustard yellow. While the beautifully embroidered work will grab your attention—particularly the metallic silver banana leaves sewn on a blush pink net dress and those moonlit roses on a black waistcoat—it was the colors that especially captivated. It appeared that Temperley put as much effort into capturing the particular brilliance of the Caribbean Sea’s undulating hues as she did placing her patterns.
