Ramadan is meant to evoke moderation and reined in indulgence. Which is why Taller Marmo’s Ramadan collection has a pared-back feel that is appropriate for both the religious season as well as the fashion season. Clothes modestly covering the silhouette are fast gaining popularity, as we have seen with a few designers of late and the kaftans featured in this collection similarly aim to swathe you with style.
Argentinian-Italian duo designers, Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea, explained that the capsule collection arose from a need to experiment and reinforce the Italian expertise of the Taller Marmo brand. “We wanted to push forward the Made in Italy know-how of our team using techniques such as intarsia,” explained Goicoechea “along with brighter shades to expose a more colorful side to the brand,” he continued. The minimal Italian tailoring allows the handicraft to shine, a testament to the “Taller” in the brand’s name. The color palette of cream, tangerine, rose, and sky blue elevate the whimsy in the design; including an evil eye or a face reminiscent of a Jean Cocteau illustration.
Continuing the same streamlined technique we saw in the Fashion Forward Season 3 collection, these kaftans are empowering in their ability to flatter effortlessly. According to Goicoechea, “You could find this woman enjoying herself with friends in a beautiful tent or a luxurious hotel in Dubai, but at the same time you can see her hanging around Capri and Positano.”
Taller Marmo’s Ramadan collection is available at Cream Jeddah in KSA and Ush Boutique in Dubai.
