On October 10th, during the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, Symphony marked its third anniversary celebrations at the Dubai Mall, with two limited edition sunglasses designed by the Alabbar family and Lapo Elkann.
Miroslava Duma and Vogue Italia’s Editor in Chief, Franca Sozzani, were Symphony’s guests of honor for the evening and many were seen capturing these memorable moments with an installed Instagram photo-booth set up especially for the evening inside the store. The retailer also displayed a preview of its new online store.
Lapo Elkann, Co-Founder of the eyewear and apparel brand, Italia Independent, collaborated with the Alabbar family to create two limited edition sunglasses, priced at AED 950 each. Both designs are based on Italia Independent’s classic 090 sunglasses and are purportedly inspired by the Arab region’s love of horses and endurance racing. The men’s model is a black velvet wayfarer type, with mirrored lenses, while the women’s version is bordeaux colored. Both models feature national flags and signature prints on the inside of the legs. Profits from the collaboration will be entirely donated to charity.
