As part of its 120th anniversary celebration, Swarovski will host a one-day exhibition, Sparkling Couture, in November at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. Over 40 regional and international brands, that have incorporated Swarovski crystals into their designs, will showcase one-of-a-kind pieces created exclusively for the exhibit. Visitors will view Swarovski-embellished bridal wear, modest wear, eveningwear, ethnic wear, as well as accessories and jewelry.
Regional talents, such as Emirati designer Fatema Al Fardan, Lebanese couturier Georges Hobeika, and Saudi abaya label Lomar, will display their creations alongside international names, including Indian designer JJ Valaya, Australia-based bridal wear designer Steven Khalil, and Thailand-based accessory label The 77th.
The Austrian company has also released a series of videos, which take a closer look at its century-old heritage by highlighting its long-standing collaborations with a number of brands, such as Masha Ma and Samsung. Here, Style.com/Arabia brings you an exclusive look of the video featuring Jean Paul Gaultier who describes his history with the crystal house.
The Sparkling Couture exhibition will take place on November 4th at Madinat Jumeirah’s Arena Ballroom, from 8:30pm to midnight. Win passes to the exhibit by uploading a picture of what you would wear to the event on Facebook, using the tag @SwarovskiCrystals and hashtag #SparklingCouture.
