The Style.com/Arabia—DDFC Fashion Prize Finalists Kick Off Award Week

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, Style.com/Arabia, in partnership with the Dubai Design & Fashion Council (DDFC) and Farfetch, hosted a “Meet the Finalists” garden party at the Dubai Design District (d3) to officially kick off the Style.com/Arabia—DDFC Fashion Prize award week. The Fashion Prize finalists, in the running for the US $250,000 prize, arrived to a relaxed outdoor setting complete with picnic tables and a food truck.

Designers Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea of Taller Marmor, Hussein Bazaza, Aziz Humaid, and Rami Kadi were the first to arrive and were welcomed by jury members, CEO and publisher of Style.com/Arabia Shashi Menon and editor-in-chief Sofia Guellaty. Shortly afterwards, finalists Hind Matar for Matar, Reema Al Banna for Reemami, Naksifa Skourti, and Zayan Ghandour for Zayan The Label made their way to the venue. Meanwhile, finalist Amine Bendriouich arrived in Dubai later that day.

Other guests at the private affair included Hind Matar’s brand ambassador and style influencer Anum Bashir, AKA the Desert Mannequin; Fashion Forward founder Bong Guerrero; and PR guru Léa Sfeir. While guests mingled, they were served fresh juices in mason jars with candy-striped straws, burgers, grilled halloumi, and ice cream cones on wicker trays.

The finalists will present their collections to the jury members on November 24th. The winner of the prize will be announced during the Style.com/Arabia—DDFC Fashion Prize gala on November 25th.
