Splash Spring 2015: Gypset and Zen Trends Rule

Last weekend, Middle Eastern retail giant Splash showcased its annual fashion extravaganza in Dubai’s Emirates Towers, titled “Brave New World.” The fashion show featured the Spring 2015 collection available in stores now and the two major trends the brand is supporting.

“This season was about exploring the roots and going back to our basics from where it began and so, we presented a very clean, minimalistic collection that infused the modernity around us,” said Raza Beig, the CEO of Splash and Iconic. “We highlighted two key themes: Luxe Zen and Gypset.”

Meters upon meters of hair extensions, fringes, and flower appliqués on one hand, and folded obis and geisha platforms on the other didn’t exactly make for a minimalistic runway, but it was all good fun and a solid showcase of affordable, on-trend pieces.

Dubai’s finest turned up for the event, including fashion influencer Mohammed Al Habtoor, Emperor 1688’s Babak Golkar, Style.com/Arabia’s VOICES contributor Rozan Ahmed, and street style star Esther Quek, and stayed to dance the night away at the show’s after-party.
