Promising to be bigger and better, Sole DXB is returning this year on November 14th and 15th and will be held at the soon-to-open Dubai Design District.
Launched as a platform for urban culture in the Middle East in February, 2011, the two-day event is a celebration of fashion and footwear, street art, and design; and includes a series of workshops, basketball tournaments, and live performances from various hip hop DJs and artists such as Shef Codes, Dan Greenpeace, and Brooklyn.
The idea of a footwear festival was thought up by four people who loved trainers and wanted to share their passion (and shoe collections) with a dedicated, like-minded community. From there, the event grew exponentially, attracting over a thousand people in the previous years.
While sneakers and street entertainment will be featured prominently at the event, visitors will also be able to enjoy informative and cultural talks from known speakers, including Walé Adeyemi, the B-Side Head Designer; denim expert Olaf Hussein; and Guillaume Philibert, the Founder of the Filling Pieces.
