The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, just launched his newest project, #MyDubai: an interactive, social media ‘autobiography’ of the Emirate, for all those who call Dubai home.
The 2014 project will gather the impressions and comments of people living in the Emirate through Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. The social media users have been asked to start sharing pictures and videos using the hashtag #MyDubai. The project will include various steps throughout 2014, including a number of cultural conferences and festive events.
“It’s time to join together and show the world how 2.1 million people can create one remarkable story,” Sheikh Hamdan said, regarding the multitude of stories the project could get from individual experiences of Dubai’s residents. “Our achievements are driven by a positive energy and spirit that is felt by everyone who lives in our Emirate, inspiring creativity and harmony and uniting more than 200 nationalities.”
“A city’s story is created by its people, as we look towards a prosperous future. Together we will create the world’s first autobiography of a city,” Sheikh Hamdan concluded.
