Style.com/Arabia can now exclusively reveal that the Ashi garment bags spotted during George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s wedding celebrations were intended for the bride’s mother, sister, and niece.
The Alamuddin family flew from London to Paris for the secret preparations and fittings which started a month prior to the Venetian star-studded ceremony.
George Clooney’s mother-in-law, Baria Alamuddin, contacted the Saudi Arabian couturier, Mohammed Ashi, to design two dresses for herself and her other daughter, Tala, as well as one dress for Amal’s niece, Mia (Tala’s daughter).
Baria chose a deep blue couture chiffon dress and a 1940s-inspired red satin dress embroidered with tulle and feathers. Tala wore a couture gray silk gazar dress from the Exiled Queen collection, followed by a lime version for the after-party, while a peach dress with flower embroidery was chosen for Mia.
Commenting on the festive occasion, the couturier told Style.com/Arabia, “It was a privilege to showcase my designs during such a magical wedding in Venice and even more inspirational to design for these beautiful ladies.”
