Saint Laurent officially opened its new boutique at The Galleria, on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi. The store currently provides the new Cruise 2014 collection, next to the current Fall 2013 items.
Established through a joint venture with luxury retailer, Al Tayer, the new Saint Laurent store is emblematic of the French brand’s further expansion throughout the region. “Over the past years, Saint Laurent has established a strong presence in the region, and we feel that it is now time to enhance it even more, in order to offer our customers a renewed experience with the Saint Laurent brand,” explained Paul Deneve, former company President and CEO, to The National.
The architecture of Saint Laurent’s new standalone store at The Galleria is based on the sober aesthetics of the French modernist movement and features raw concrete form work, next to black and white marble, used for the clothing rails, fitting rooms, and floors, with nickel and gold-pleated brass adornments on Art Deco-inspired windows. The furniture, hand-picked by Hedi Slimane, consists of vintage pieces by modernist artists such as Adnet, René Herbst, and Breuer.
Throughout the UAE, Saint Laurent has a total of six sales points, including The Galleria, the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, the Mall of the Emirates, Bloomingdales, Harvey Nichols, and Level Shoe District.
