If you had to choose five standout women, who would it be? For Lebanese designer Roula Ghalayini’s latest collaboration, she chose five Dubai-based entrepreneurs: Emirati cultural and social activist Butheina Kazim; fitness enthusiast Aimee Changco; luxury consultant Rosemin Manji (who already has a bag named after her); Scandinavian stylist Teresa Karpinska; and Australian-Mauritian blogger Kat Lebrasse.

The designs were unveiled at a showcase at Galeries Lafayette in the Dubai Mall, which also featured a street style photo gallery of the five women. The bags, starting at AED/SAR 1,700, vary in designs according to their respective namesake; some creations are subtle and practical in mellow shades and textures, such as beige and leather, while others use more punchy colors and exotic snakeskin.

Ghalayini intends to develop the concept of “Standout Women” into a platform that sheds light on the region’s successful women.

The Rula Galayini designs can be purchased or ordered in Galeries Lafayette, the Dubai Mall, the cARTel, and online at www.rulagalayini.com.
