When we noticed that social media was abuzz with the news of a Robert Wan X Nadine Kanso collaboration, we were keen to get the first look of the piece designed by Bil Arabi’s creative director Nadine Kanso and “Emperor of Pearls” Robert Wan—as we knew that it would be nothing short of extraordinary. Upon learning that Robert Wan would be showing at the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (DJWE)—a showcase that is renowned for unveiling some of the world’s most exclusive fine jewelry pieces—we put one and one together and booked our journalist Nouriah Al Shatti a first flight out to Doha.
Indeed, the fine jewelry result of the collaboration is spectacular. Featured here is a rare 22mm black pearl from the Robert Wan museum collection nestled inside “lashes” made with Arabic calligraphy, sapphires, and baguette diamonds to form an exceptional “evil eye.”
Speaking with Style.com/Arabia, Nadine Kanso said, “It’s always an amazing journey to collaborate with international brands such as Robert Wan. Here, I went on a discovery of the world of pearls and got to design and produce an amazing piece that brings two worlds together.”
The one-of-a-kind, handmade “Ya Noor El Ain” ring is currently on show at the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition.
Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition starts today and runs until February 27th.
