With the arrival of March begins the two-month long, highly anticipated bi-annual exhibition, Riyadh Fashion Days, which serves as a platform for emerging talents from around the region to present their collections.
The Maison Bo-M Galeries at Riyadh’s Nujoud Mall, in partnership with the British Council, will host the 6th edition of the fashionable event until April 30th. Riyadh Fashion Days presents a unique mix of kaftans, abayas, ready-to-wear, eveningwear, and accessories by designers who meet the fine tastes of the modern-day women of the region. The featured kaftan designers include Bahraini label Elle Maison, showcasing tulle and organza designs; Saudi-based designer MojaMajka, presenting kaftan creations with Turkish detailing; and Kuwaiti designers—Dar May, Hamsa, and Ghain Ghada—exhibiting fresh designs with a modern twist.
In abayas, Emirati designer Ibdaa3 Collection is showcasing pieces with elaborate embroidered elements; Meem Abaya Collections is presenting its traditional yet elegant designs; while Chador, known for its modern take on the traditional overlay, is launching its resort 2015 collection.
Meanwhile, ready-to-wear Saudi designer Nasiba Hafiz is presenting her Spring 2015 “Harajuku Collection,” which includes floral-printed separates and polka-dot kimonos in a red, blue, purple, and cream palette. Eveningwear brand HRA by Huda Alrabiah will be adding a touch of glamour to the event while casual clothing label Mash4 is offering laid-back, cool pieces.
Handbag designer Roula Ghalayini is showcasing “The Articulate Collection,” which includes powerful minimal clutches with a strong edge.
