Be Her Valentine: Rita Ora Comes To Dubai

The helpless romantics who have been looking forward to Valentine’s Day might just have another reason to do so.

Dubai’s RedFest DXB music festival announced a performance by Rita Ora, on February 14th, the festival’s last day. “Dubai I can’t wait to perform for you!!! First show of the year!!! Bring it on!! [sic]”, the singer tweeted earlier this morning.

It’s not Rita Ora’s first stint in the UAE. Last April, the 23-year-old London-based pop-star was invited to Dubai by Chanel, as she was featured by Karl Lagerfeld in Chanel’s Little Black Jacket photo exhibition. Along with being one of Lagerfeld’s picks, Rita Ora has recently been named the new face of Rimmel and created a beauty capsule which will hit stores this month. She is currently working on her second studio album.

The singer revealed that her upcoming album might have an ethnic twist related to her Kosovar-Albanian roots. ‘’Kosovo had my back since I’ve started. The music is a bit Arabic with an Eastern European feel,’’ she said, when discussing the musical styles that influenced her.

The two-day RedFest DXB event will take place at the Dubai Media City Amphitheater and will feature a musical line-up of almost 40 regional and international acts including Jessie J, John Newman, The Lumineers, and A-YO (DJs Mark Ronson and Zane Lowe), amongst others. Tickets are priced between AED/SAR 299-2,099 and are available at Virgin Megastore.
