The extended cut…
After debuting a 60-second clip of Rihanna’s Secret Garden campaign last week, Dior has gone one step further and released an extended version of the same film. The dark, four-minute video is set to a remixed version of Florence and the Machine’s “Only if for a Night” and features Rih strutting through Versailles’ famous Hall of Mirrors and iconic expansive gardens. As it turns out, 60 seconds of Rihanna just wasn’t enough. [YouTube]
A smile and a wink get you further than you think…
i-D magazine is celebrating its 35th birthday with a very special anniversary issue. The publication enlisted a diverse range of models, including supers Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy, Stella Tennant, and Freja Beha Erichsen, as well as newer faces Grace Hartzel, Anna Ewers, and Adrienne Jüliger, to appear on its 18 separate covers. Each cover was photographed by Alasdair McLellan and features a cheeky catwalker closing or covering one eye, which is indented as a personification of the brand’s iconic “smile and wink” logo. [i-D]
A very famous introduction…
This year’s Central Saint Martins graduate show will feature a very recognizable celebrity guest: Shia LaBeouf. The actor has been chosen to introduce the end-of-year work by the graduating class from the Fine Art program. Each student was asked to create text for LaBeouf to perform which could be “as poetic, abstract, or literal as you like—with the emphasis on expressing the feeling and tone of the work being introduced.” LaBeouf then acted out the introductions in front of a green screen, allowing each student to add a background of their choice.
