Marc Jacobs has a weakness for Prada. Specifically, Marc Jacobs has a weakness for women’s Prada overcoats that feature various embellishments. It’s a look that he’s been cultivating for some time.
Consider, for instance, the black, Japanese blossom-adorned number from Spring 2013 he wore to The Great Gatsby premiere last April. (Anna Wintour—coincidentally? —showed up in an identical garb.) Or take his twinsie moment with Love magazine editrix Katie Grand, in which the pair sported matching rainbow fur coats from Miuccia’s Spring 2014 collection. (Grand also styled him in drag for a spread in Industrie a few years back.)
Jacobs continued his streak at last night’s 15th annual Free Arts NYC Art Auction, which honored artist Scott Campbell. His topper of choice? A blue, monochromatic—and decidedly fur-less—bejeweled number from Spring 2014. Superfan, indeed.
