Each year, Saudi designer Razan Alazzouni produces 500 limited edition caftans meant to represent our culture in a modern way. The caftans are hand-embroidered and feature jeweled accents on modern silhouettes. Here, we see her underwater-themed Spring 2015 collection referenced in the luminescence of the sheer organza bisht and the sea blue overlay whose sleeves’ hems are embellished with pearls hinting at the motion of ocean waves. Alazzouni suggested to Style.com/Arabia that pairing one’s caftan with a bejeweled bisht will “give it a more formal and unique twist.” Notably, the caftans carry multi-strand pearl necklaces that hang against the luxurious fabric, making for an unmistakable signature Alazzouni statement. The collection will be available at Symphony boutique in The Dubai Mall and via private orders.
