From February 24th to March 2nd, Doha will host the 11th edition of the so-called Doha Jewellery and Watches Expo (DJWE) at the National Convention Center. Organized by the Qatar Tourism Authority and held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the 7-day event will welcome over 500 regional and international fine jewelry and luxury watch brands, including Bulgari, Christie’s Jewelry, Fabergé, and Roger Dubuis.
For the occasion, Fabergé announced the launch of a range of new jewelry pieces that will be added to the brand’s Imperial Collection, which will be put on display at the fair, next to Fabergé’s iconic egg pendants. The series comprises a pair of earrings, a ring, a cuff bracelet, and a sautoir necklace inspired by the Imperial Romanov court and hand-crafted in emeralds, sapphires, and amethysts.
Notable Qatari brands that participate in the event include Fifty One East, Al Fardan Jewelry, Al Majed Jewelry, Al Jaber Watches, and Al Makki Jewelry & Watches, amongst others. According to reports, the 2013 edition of DJWE hosted a total of 50,000 visitors.
