The Proenza Schouler spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection pulled off fashion’s triple threat: the offering was contemporary, unique, and saluted the past. Most designers strive to achieve this, yet it rarely happens that a collection features exactly what people want to wear. In this case, it was ultra-femininity by way of simple shapes and volumes, yet in a different style than Delpozo, Assoulin, or Oscar de la Renta—a beautiful homage to the king of the genre, Cristóbal Balenciaga.
