Midway through London Fashion Week, the city’s finest celebrated the opening of the Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition. A host of celebrities—including Selena Gomez, the Delevingne sisters, Alexa Chung, Bianca Jagger, Michelle Williams, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, and Catherine Deneuve—all clad in Louis Vuitton made their way down the red carpet for the opening night of the roadshow exhibit. Inside a building adjacent to Somerset House, the star-studded crowd mingled while making its way through the vast space that reinterprets a runway show in a multidimensional environment, with a focus on the French luxury house’s Fall 2015 collection.
Following preceding exhibitions—Series 1 in Shanghai and Tokyo and Series 2 in Los Angeles and Rome—Louis Vuitton’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, in collaboration with stage designer Es Devlin created a digital journey that takes spectators beyond the catwalk. Open to the public from September 21st until October 18th, the 13-room sensory overload exhibit will take audiences to explore the start of Ghesquière’s creative process all the way through to the final touches of the collection. The exhibition features a walk-in wardrobe of clothes behind glass cases; a live demonstration of artisans putting together two new signature handbags—the La Petite Malle and Dora; a room showing the runway presentation with backstage highlights; and in the center of it all, a monogram trunk that contains Ghesquière’s inspirations.
The Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition is being held at 180 Strand next to Somerset House. It is open to the public from 10am to 8pm, until October 18th 2015. Admission is free.
