Victoria’s Secret 2014 Show

Moments before the hotly anticipated 2014 Victoria’s Secret fashion show started on Tuesday night, an announcer in a stern voice told guests that no photography was allowed. About one second into the show, when Behati Prinsloo fiercely stormed down the runway, the room (which included VIPs of the likes of Simon and Yasmin Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, Ed Westwick, Ellie Goulding, Olivia Palermo, and Joely Richardson) lit up with flash pops. Oh well, that rule didn’t last long.

Flashbulbs continued to pop as the Angels strutted in an array of creations (including a US $2 million bra), very big hair, glossy skin, and some truly gorgeous shoes courtesy of Nicholas Kirkwood and Sophia Webster.

Victoria’s Secret also impressed with its entertainment this year. Back by popular demand was Karlie Kloss’ bestie, Taylor Swift (the two sweetly held hands during one trip down the runway), while Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran also performed—the latter couldn’t resist sneaking side glances at the beauties that floated past him and we couldn’t blame him one bit. At the end of the extravaganza that had more of a Miss Universe Pageant vibe to it than that of a fashion show, hundreds of balloons came down, signaling that it was time for a party…and did that party ever last.

A reception held at the venue and was attended by the likes of Roland Mouret, David Koma, Edward Enninful, Christopher Vos, Peter Pilotto, Charlotte Dellal, and many more, while the Angels milled about happily in the crowd. But the girls were not there for long; after a change of clothes, they headed off to after-party number two at the appropriately sexy venue, the Basement Bar at the London Edition hotel, where they took to the dance floor and really let their hair down. One of the Angels, Cindy Bruna, told Style.com/Arabia: “Walking the show was so much fun. I wasn’t nervous at all, just really excited and happy.” No surprise then that the electric vibe resonated throughout the night. Job well done, Angels.
