To celebrate Kim Kardashian West’s birthday last week, we created a list of gifts for the girl who has everything. The item that Kardashian West did receive for her 34th, however, was the ultimate surprise. Mrs. West revealed to Us Weekly that Mr. West gave her a hand-painted Hermès Birkin. Initially, Kardashian West thought it was a new artist who had painted the bag, but it turns out the illustrator behind the creation was in fact her 16-month-old daughter, North. [Us Weekly]

Would you pay to use YouTube ad-free?
YouTube is considering starting a paid subscription service to enable customers to skip ads. At the moment, most YouTube services are free and thus advertising is a main source of revenue for the site. There has been no indication of how much the subscription would cost or when it would be released. [The New York Times]

Using computer-augmented photos, researchers are attempting to discover what men and women find attractive in each other. Historically, we were led to believe that women preferred the most masculine features, though this may not actually be the case in modern society. For example, “In South America, women preferred feminine-looking men,” said Isabel Scott, a psychologist at Brunel University in Uxbridge, England. “It was quite unexpected.” [Time]
