Loose Silhouettes and Embellishments Make Up Noon by Noor’s Resort 2016 Collection

Since the Spring 2013 season, Bahraini cousins Shaikha Noor and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa, the designer duo behind Noon by Noor, have been showing at New York Fashion Week. For their Resort 2016 collection, the designers have steered clear of the megawatt metallics that took over their Fall 2015 collection; instead, they’ve taken a more minimal route with loose silhouettes and added a hint of glimmer with embellishments and floral appliques. Cocoon coats conquer the collection while matching co-ords make for a spring suit in both grid and floral prints.

The collection also takes on a masculine, sporty aesthetic in the loosely tailored pants and oversized, tailored boyfriend vests, which can double as a dress. The strongest pieces, however, are those which draw attention to the more feminine side: layered tea-length dresses; a lemon yellow, perforated midi skirt; a cotton candy pink, embellished cocoon coat; a breezy, organza overlaid dress; and a floor-sweeping, embellished black gown.
